K4 Curriculum
Language Arts: Recognition of upper case letters, introduction to letter sounds and letter formation, listening, sequencing, oral language development, auditory/visual discrimination, classifying, listening comprehension, express feelings with words, nursery rhymes, songs, poems, keeping a daily journal
Math: Writing numbers to ten, counting beyond thirty, classification, comparison, number readiness, use of numbers in everyday living, patterns, completing a series, calendar skills, ordering numbers
Social Studies: Holidays, transportation, Native Americans, safety, community helpers, patriiotism, character development, family
Science: Introduction to basic areas of science, including units on insects, birds, animals, health and food, weather and seasons, colors
Enrichment Areas: In addition to the above, K4 students have weekly classes in Spanish, Art, P.E., Library, and Music. Enrichment classes are taught by highly qualified teachers who specialize in their fields.
K4 students also benefit from emotional, social, physical development, and self help skills such as ease of separation from parents, respect of property, independence in taking care of personal property, sharing and taking turns, daily activities that promote small and large motor skills, introduction to homework, and learning address and phone number.
